We are a group of avid quail hunters and supporters of quail hunting who came together in 2014 to help promote quail hunting in Southwest Georgia. It was important to us that Southwest Georgia remained the "Quail Hunting Capital of the World". We wanted to make sure that there were funds available to help with quail and quail habitat research as well as helping fund programs that would promote responsible hunting in our youth.
We are well aware of the economic impact that quail hunting has on our region. A recent study by Tall Timbers Research Station & Land Conservancy puts the total economic impact of quail hunting on wild properties at $124.9 million. This helped to create 878 total direct and indirect jobs. Overnight visitor stays on hunting properties was 7,456 nights.
To help us achieve these goals, we could find no finer organization to become a part of than Quail Forever.
It was also important to us that the accounting for the funds we raise be open and transparent. For that reason we have published a recap of the financials for each of our events. The accounting for The Georgia Quail Invitational-2015 can be found here, and the accounting for our 2014 Chapter Banquet can be found here.
